Description: The time has come to showcase the know-how of Aix-en-Provence santon makers. We call santons all the characters that take their place in a Christmas nativity scene. Formerly known as the Saint Barbara feast market, it was the largest annual Aixois gathering. Then, in December 1934, Mr. Fouque and his son settled there to sell their handcrafted santons. Over time, other santon makers joined them, eventually giving birth to the authentic Aix-en-Provence Santons Fair.
