The city of Amiens awakens and has fun irregularly. Certain venues, dedicated to all kinds of entertainment, take charge almost exclusively of the animation. Location-wise, most events are spread between the city center and congress spaces.
Certainly, you'll find the unmissable events like the Amiens Christmas market, the programming of MACU (Maison de la Culture) and widespread gatherings like the Fête de la Musique or Heritage Days.
However, small events seem to make a vow of discretion! Apart from the headliners, Amiens events vary enormously from year to year and wait for you to hunt them down. Therefore, we recommend you check periodically, as your Amiens stay approaches, so as not to miss any ephemeral highlights.
Hoping you don't stay there during a "blank" period, in which case shopping and cultural visits will monopolize your free time.
Every year, on June 21st, the Fête de la musique makes all of France dance. From the beginning of summer, the people of Amiens are particularly impatient to see this musical event return. From late afternoon, youth takes possession of the streets, from the Saint-Leu district to the city center. The bars are packed all night and the squares are black with people! If you love dancing outdoors, northern beer and music of all kinds, now you know where to go.
