1- Visit Angers Castle

Description: Angers Castle, the most famous building in Maine-et-Loire and a must-see when visiting Angers. Occupied from the 9th century by the Counts of Anjou, the castle's construction really began in the 13th century under Louis IX's orders. Later, the Dukes of Anjou transformed it into a lordly residence in the 15th century. Construction finished in the 16th century and remains identical today. Inside this castle is a historical marvel that earns it a place in UNESCO's world heritage. It's the "Apocalypse Tapestry", designed at the end of the 14th century by Jean de Patmos under Duke Louis I of Anjou's orders. It's the largest woven work in medieval history. Visiting this castle, you'll have a breathtaking view of the entire city. The visit is free for under 18s, and free for European Union citizens under 26.
2- A bike ride with wine, does that tempt you?

Description: How not to rejoice in combining two French traditions: a bike ride while visiting several wine estates, with a bonus tasting of the region's best wines. For about 6.5 hours, you'll be immersed in the Angers vineyards, crossing west of Angers to reach the southwest of the city. After passing through the world-famous "La Coulée du Serrant" cellar, you'll follow the Loire to picnic in an idyllic setting. Get back on your bike, and the ride continues. Now to the second wine estate, that of the Layon region, known to the general public. This ride offers the opportunity to thoroughly discover the vineyards while doing physical activity.


3- Immersion in 15th century Angers

Description: Go back in time and let yourself be carried away into the 15th century Angers universe through Aldric, a Middle Ages innkeeper who knows the city and history of Angers better than anyone. You'll be taken to listen to Aldric's captivating stories while visiting Adam's House, Saint-Maurice Cathedral, the episcopal palace, the Bout du Monde promenade and the castle. You're also invited to savor a medieval dish during your visit. For 1.5 hours, turn back the clocks!

5- Take flight by boarding a hot air balloon

Description: Located a few kilometers from Angers, a hot air balloon escapade above Saumur promises you a breathtaking view of Saumur castle and the Loire-Anjou-Touraine regional natural park. For safety reasons, flights take place between April and November, during defined time slots for the same reasons. If you want to gain altitude during summer, two slots are possible: either from 5 to 7 AM, or from 5 to 9 PM. You can thus enjoy adequate lighting that will dazzle your pupils.
