1. The Mont Veyrier hike

The Mont Veyrier hike is a classic and unmissable hike to do around Annecy. It will allow you to enjoy a panoramic view of the lake and the city, as well as the surrounding peaks. The hike starts at the Col du Pré Vernet, about 15 minutes by car from downtown Annecy. The trail gradually climbs through the forest, then opens onto a ridge, where you can admire the landscape. You can then continue to Mont Baron, which offers an even more spectacular viewpoint. The hike lasts about 4 hours, for a distance of 10 km and an elevation gain of 700 meters. It is of medium level, and requires being well equipped in winter, with snowshoes or crampons.
