Description: The Nice carnival is the carnival of all superlatives! It's simply the largest carnival in France and one of the most famous in Europe! Its origins date back to the 13th century, but it was at the end of the 19th century that it was officially organized by the "Festival Committee". Every year since then, floats, grotesque giants, dancers and musicians parade through the streets of the Riviera capital and spread joy and fantasy in their wake! A festive and heritage event not to be missed to discover Nice from the angle of collective celebration!
Good to know: Every year, hundreds of thousands of spectators take to the streets of Nice to admire the carnival. Hotels are at full capacity and restaurants don't slow down the pace during the day! So, to attend, remember to book your accommodation in advance and position yourself quickly at the parade level so you don't miss anything.
2. Nice Jazz Festival

Description: Okay, many cities organize their own jazz festival, but the one in Nice has a particularity. It's simply one of the oldest jazz festivals in France, its first edition having taken place in 1948 when jazz was still new music for many French people. During this internationally renowned event, numerous musicians from all corners of the planet perform on stage in different places throughout the city, indoors and outdoors. A perfect way to add a musical touch to your stay on the Riviera!
3. The Mai Festival
Date or period: Every year in May.

Description: Celebrate Nice folklore in the middle of the century-old olive trees of the Jardins des Arènes de Cimiez. Discover the language and traditional music of the county of Nice. Not to mention the long-awaited feast, in the open air, that awaits you on site! Continue the feast in each neighborhood of the city. They take charge of organizing their own "mai". On the menu among the specialties, find socca, pissaladière, pan-bagnat, chard pie... A real treat!
4. The Port Festival

Description: The Port Festival is the early autumn gathering on the Nice quays. Residents gather there by the thousands to attend concerts, participate in all kinds of activities and above all break bread! In a warm atmosphere, you'll rediscover the most succulent specialties of the County of Nice. A perfect way to set the tone for this back-to-school period.
