Description: Pau is the city that saw the birth of King Henri IV. He was born in the dignified feudal fortress that is the Pau Castle, built during the 10th century. Renovated during the 14th century by Gaston Fébus, the immense residence became a typical Renaissance castle. It's possible to access it on a guided tour, with a museum agent. They will show you the different rooms of the castle, what they were used for, how they were utilized... You'll follow a general route that will take you through different eras. So, are you ready to experience a temporal journey? The Pau castle is located near "rue du Château", and is open every day from 9:30 to 9:45, and from 2 PM to 5 PM.
2. The Boulevard des Pyrénées

Description: What you need to think about when you consider the Boulevard des Pyrénées in the city of Pau, is that it was designed a bit like a huge balcony, on which everyone can come and enjoy the breathtaking view it offers of the mountain chain. This is what the mythical Boulevard des Pyrénées really is, which majestically connects the Pau Castle to the Palais Beaumont. You can easily access it by taking the funicular, although many brave souls like to access it on foot! It's a lovely walk of nearly 2 kilometers that you can do at any time of the year to admire the intense and deep landscape. The Boulevard des Pyrénées is located in the middle of the city, and it's possible to access it freely all year round.

Description: As we told you previously, Pau is a sporty city. You can absolutely try everything, whether on land or water! To better discover the city, we recommend renting bikes for a day to better explore its corners. It's a fun activity to do with family, and romantic as a couple. Around noon, you won't have trouble taking a little break in your journey, and stopping at a restaurant to eat a local specialty on the terrace, enjoying the lovely view. You can also go horseback riding, and thus move a little away from the city to explore the wild nature that surrounds Pau. And why not spend an afternoon suspended in the trees on a zipline at least forty meters above the ground? Let's be crazy!
4. The Beaumont Park

Description: Pau is a beautiful city, and if you just want to take a little break from your visit for a morning, then we strongly recommend going to Beaumont Park. This green space designed in 1898 by Henri Martinet makes it an excellent place for a romantic picnic! It must be said that it offers a rather relaxing and romantic setting: a lovely lake, a music kiosk, pretty colorful flowers revealing themselves to the world like a dance ballet, curious little animals... It feels like a cartoon! If you don't know what time of day to go there, we recommend trying late in the day around 5 PM. The sunset there is magical! Beaumont Park is located on "Barbanegre" street, and is open every day at any time.
5. Saint-Jacques Church

Category: Cultural
Description: Right in the middle of the city, very close to the Palace of Justice, stands Saint-Jacques church. Why does it stand out from other churches more particularly? Well, it was actually a place of refuge for pilgrims who went to Santiago de Compostela during their pilgrimage. Neo-Gothic in inspiration, it was erected during the period 1861-1868, and since then, it continues to attract visitors each year who come to lose themselves in this immense edifice made of sculpted tympanums, robust walls, luminous stained glass windows, and decorative paintings. A real work of art! Entry to Saint-Jacques church is free, it's open every day from 8:30 AM to 7 PM. It's a magnificent place where there reigns a somewhat electric and mysterious aura, which generally leaves visitors thoughtful.

Then, after your little snack, why not stop in a quiet place to chat with the city's inhabitants?
