City of about 54,000 inhabitants located in Tuscany, Siena is like its region, a place full of history. Tuscany has seen the greatest artists in the world grow up, such as Leonardo da Vinci or Michelangelo. As for Siena, its historic city center is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In addition to being a sublime city, Siena hosts a medieval tradition that takes place twice a year and is worth the visit. Between culture, gastronomy, art and architecture, Siena deserves more attention.
1- Discover the medieval center and its cathedral

Description: During a 2-hour walk through the medieval center of Siena, you will discover the history of its paved streets, its impressive buildings such as the Palazzo Salimbeni, considered one of the oldest banks in the world. Your guide will take you to two holy places that occupy an important place in the hearts of Sienese and Italians in general. The first is the Basilica San Domenico, built in the 13th century, in the district where Catherine of Siena grew up, a figure of Italian Catholic religion. The second religious monument is the Cathedral Santa Maria Assunta of Siena, also built during the 13th century. 2- Discover the Sienese countryside on horseback

During this visit of about two hours, you will mount a horse, cross the vineyards and Tuscan landscapes while listening to your guide who will tell you the history of this region, its fauna and flora. You will have the possibility to visit a wine estate and even do a tasting of local wine. 3- Attend the Palio di Siena

Description: To immerse yourself 100% in local culture, we highly recommend attending one of these legendary races of Italy. There are some all over the country but those of Siena are the most famous. The Palio is a horse race between neighborhoods or neighboring cities. This tradition takes place twice a year, both in summer. The first date of this event is July 2nd, in honor of Madonna di Provenzano, a terracotta bust located in the church Santa Maria di Provenzano, patron saint of the city of Siena. The second race takes place a little over a month later, on August 16th, during the feast of the Assumption. The riders mount horses without saddles or harnesses. This tradition that endures over the decades attracts thousands of people every year.
4- Discover one of Italy's most renowned vineyards with tasting included

Description: Departing from Siena by minibus, you will go to the wine hill of Montalcino where one of Italy's most prestigious wines, Brunello, is produced.
