This enormous city welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors every year, at all times and during all seasons. At the same time, it's easy to see why it's so appealing: skyscrapers; museums; cheap food especially in street-food stalls; Buddhist temples; Kpop culture…
It's natural that Seoul would be among your travel priorities. For this reason, we've put together a small list of activities that might appeal to you and make you fall even more in love with this region of the country known as "the land of the morning calm."

What to do in Seoul?
1. Gyeongbokgung Palace
Category: €€/Cultural
Description: Completely unique. It's very different from other palaces you may have visited in your life. With its pointed roof and bold colors, it truly represents an architectural treasure steeped in Korean traditions. It's one of the legendary places in the capital that testifies to Korea's rich historical past. In the past, this is where the kings of the "Joseon" dynasty used to hold their banquets. The site tour is quite extensive, as it consists of several buildings. Among them, we highly recommend discovering the "Geunjeongjeon," known as the throne hall.
Accompanied by a guide, you can learn more about the famous dynasty and visit every corner that this illustrious palace has to offer. Located in "Jongno-gu" and open every day except Tuesday, from 9am to 5pm, it's a place where a mystical and electric aura reigns.
2. Bukhansan National Park

Description: Sometimes it's good to alternate visiting crowded tourist sites with a little escape into nature, right? First of all, you should know that the landscape in South Korea is primarily mountainous. Consequently, a large majority of Koreans enjoy hiking and rock climbing. If you're an accomplished athlete or are looking for thrills with friends or family, Bukhansan National Park will live up to your expectations. By taking the subway, about an hour from Seoul, you can discover this magnificent place with a panoramic view of the city and its different regions.
The most adventurous among you will probably love climbing Mount Bukhansan! It's a fairly tough climb, and you need to prepare well beforehand before starting the ascent and tackling the 837 meters that separate you from sea level. But after this challenge, you'll feel like kings of the world!
3. Visit the Insadong District

Description: If you ever travel to Seoul, there are certainly many neighborhoods worth visiting. But if we had to recommend one, it would undoubtedly be Insadong, one of the oldest in the entire city, and very certainly in all of Korea! Very touristy, you'll find all kinds of souvenir shops, good food, artistic objects, galleries, museums, exhibitions, tea houses... It feels like a festival of colors and beautiful things!
It's the perfect place for a first approach to Korean culture. Above all, we highly recommend "Insa Art Center," open from 10am to 7pm and offering 6 floors, all showcasing works and artistic gems by different artists. It's also in Insadong that one of the most beautiful Korean temples, "Jogyesa," is located. You'll definitely have a great time!
4. Cheonggyecheon Stream

Description: For nearly 11 kilometers, flows a small stream called Cheonggyecheon crossing the city from east to west. Koreans enjoy walking along this calm and peaceful waterway below street level. It's a simple little walk that allows you to get away from the big city for a few moments and take a big breath of fresh air. This stream flowing through the heart of Seoul is a place where many families like to spend the afternoon, setting up a picnic. From time to time, you'll see one or two small traditional boats sailing quietly on the water.
The best time to go is a little before sunset. Its rays piercing through the water, which is thus briefly filled with yellow, red and orange colors, offer an absolutely magnificent spectacle.
5. N Seoul Tower of Namsan

Description: Here's an essential landmark to visit in Seoul! N Seoul Tower of Namsan offers a breathtaking view of Seoul and its surroundings. Knowing that it's the highest point in the city, it measures almost 230 meters high! With a rich history, it was completed in 1969, and was an asset for Korean radio and television after the war, helping to develop Seoul's economic aspects.
Located next to Myeongdong, lovers come to N Seoul Tower of Namsan by cable car and attach a padlock there, a symbol of their love that will never detach. The beauty of the landscape is also breathtaking. The Tower is open year-round from 10am to 11pm Sunday through Friday, and on Saturday until midnight.
6. Dongdaemun Design Plaza

Description: If in your wildest dreams you've ever imagined a futuristic-looking building, unlike any other, then know that your dreams will come true! Very similar to a spaceship, it takes you to a new galaxy. More commonly called "Dongdaemun Fashion Street," it's a place very renowned for its reduced prices and cutting-edge fashion clothing. It's very simple, whatever you need to buy, you'll find it without great difficulty: makeup, shoes, especially outfits, latest accessories...
The market is open from 8am to 6am and is located in the trendy Dongdaemun district. A gigantic multifunctional complex, it has everything to please and attracts attention just by its structure!
