This war memorial was built in the 1930s to honor the men and women from New South Wales who served during World War I. Inside, there are several rooms: the Hall of Silence, the Hall of Memory, and the Hall of Service. The exterior architecture is well worth taking a look. With a combination of both Gothic and Art Deco styles, it features 20 sculptures representing figures from the army, navy, air force, and medical corps. As a place of memory and contemplation, the memorial is located in the heart of Hyde Park. It was designed by architect Charles Bruce Dellit, as well as by British artist George Rayner Hoff.
