Aldilonda

In front of you stands the Aldilonda. Inaugurated in 2020, this recent addition to the city has become a favourite among locals and visitors. The name means “path beside the sea” in Corsican, and that’s exactly what it is. Suspended five metres above the water, this coastal walkway hugs the rocky base of the Citadel, linking the Old Port to Arinella Beach, just under 3 kilometres away. It’s the perfect place for a jog, a stroll, or simply to soak up the sea air. The views over the Mediterranean and the surrounding mountains are stunning, especially at sunrise, a real treat for photographers. Sleek, modern, and perfectly integrated into the landscape, the Aldilonda is one of Bastia’s must-see spots.
