Located right on the edge of the Loire estuary, the ecomuseum couldn't be better situated to tell the complete story of Saint-Nazaire, its port, and its major industries. Opened in 1988 under the town council's initiative, this cultural destination invites us on a journey through time, featuring both happy moments and darker hours that the city has experienced, from prehistoric times to the present day. The creation of the port, the reconstruction of the area after the wars, and the development of metallurgy are just some of the key chapters in this historical timeline. The complete tour, estimated to take about 45 minutes, combines permanent and temporary exhibitions that allow you to trace Saint-Nazaire's great adventure through collection items, scale models, documents, and more. This amazing Loire city, built twice in one century, will no longer hold any secrets from you.
