Art and archaeology take center stage in this museum, inaugurated in 1869. Housed in a magnificent 19th-century building, it was specifically constructed to showcase the city's art collections, making it the first structure in France purpose-built as a Fine Arts Museum. Designed after a section of the Louvre Museum, the Musée de Picardie exhibits collections spanning from Prehistory to the 20th century, illustrating the history of Amiens and the lives of its residents. Its stunning Neoclassical architecture makes it one of the most striking buildings in the heart of Amiens.
