On your left, down Szentháromság Street, you’ll find the elegant and historic Ruszwurm Confectionery. Its striking pistachio-green façade gives you a taste of what’s inside... Opened in 1827, this is the oldest existing pastry shop in Budapest. From royals, like Elisabeth of Wittelsbach, to ordinary people, like you and me – the shop has served generations of customers over the years! The Queen of Hungary had a soft spot for its sweet treats. She even had her wedding cake made by the confectionery’s pastry chefs! After almost 200 years, the quality hasn’t changed one bit. Ruszwurm Confectionery proudly carries on its tradition of tasty pastries. As you step inside, the cherrywood panelling and rustic furniture take you back to the 19th century. Just look at the wide range of homemade cakes and treats... You’ll be on cloud nine from the very first bite. If you do stop by, make sure to try at least one, weather it’s a strudel, mille-feuille, Krémes, Dobos torte, Somlói sponge cake, or chocolate-covered marzipan—you’ll be spoiled for choice.
