The impressive neoclassical building before you is Dublin’s City Hall. Built in the 18th century for the merchants’ guild, it originally served as the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce. Don’t be intimidated by its grand colonnaded façade—step inside for a quick visit! Entry is free, and the Rotunda Hall, a circular vestibule crowned by a massive dome, is well worth a look. If you’re interested, you can also head down to the basement, where a multimedia exhibition traces the city’s history from its very foundation. Feel free to explore before we continue on our tour. Once you’re back outside, be sure to admire the beautiful Art Nouveau entrance to Dublin’s Olympia Theatre, just across the street.
