Ebisu Tower Ferris Wheel

Here you are at the base of an attraction you probably noticed from far away: the Ebisu Tower Ferris wheel. Unlike traditional Ferris wheels, this one has an oval shape, unique in the world, which gives it a silhouette that immediately stands out in the urban landscape. It is built directly into the façade of the Don Quijote store, a very popular discount retail chain in Japan. As you step into one of the enclosed, air-conditioned cabins, the ride begins, slowly lifting you to more than seventy meters above the city over the course of about fifteen minutes. At the top, the view opens over the Dōtonbori Canal, its bridges, the giant signs, and the constant movement of the crowds below. On clear days, you may even be able to spot distant landmarks such as Osaka Castle or Tsutenkaku Tower. During the day, you can watch the steady flow of pedestrians and boats, but the experience becomes especially breathtaking at night, when the neon lights reflect in the water and turn the district into something that feels almost like a movie set. It’s a great opportunity to gain a little height and see Osaka from another perspective.
