The climate in Campeche is tropical, with warm temperatures throughout the year. The heat is often combined with high humidity, and daytime temperatures regularly exceed 30 degrees Celsius, especially between spring and summer. The rainy season usually runs from June to October, with showers that can sometimes be intense but are often brief. The most pleasant time to visit the city is generally between November and April, when the air is a bit drier and the temperatures slightly milder. Even during these months, it is usually best to plan visits in the morning or later in the afternoon, when the heat is more comfortable.
No need to worry about where to begin! Our tours are designed as a loop, so you can jump in wherever you are. The navigation system and audioguide will automatically adjust to your location. However, if you happen to be nearby, we do have a preferred starting point: on Plaza de la Independecia, in front of the cathedral
Free parking along the Malecón: Avenida Adolfo Ruiz Cortinez Parking in Campeche is generally quite easy, especially around the historic center. One of the best options is to leave your car near the Malecón, the large waterfront promenade along the sea, where parking is usually easy to find and the fortified city can be reached in just a few minutes on foot. It is also possible to park around the old city walls along the Circuito Baluartes, particularly near Puerta de Mar or Puerta de Tierra, both of which provide convenient access points into the historic center. A few paid parking lots can also be found close to Plaza de la Independencia and the surrounding main streets. In any case, since the historic center is relatively compact and partly pedestrianized, it is often more pleasant to park outside the walls and continue exploring on foot.
