No need to tell you that you’re in Chinatown—this temple speaks for itself! Built in 2000, this is the largest traditional Chinese-style Buddhist temple in Europe. It is dedicated to Guanyin, the bodhisattva of compassion and one of the rare female figures in Buddhism. If you’re wondering, the temple's name means "Lotus Flower" in Mandarin. It was constructed by the Fo Guang Shan Buddhist order, a Taiwanese community following the principles of Humanistic Buddhism. Feel free to step inside through one of the side entrances to admire this magnificent sanctuary!
