From Al Bahri Road, you can see Kalbuh Park in the distance, a stretch of greenery set between the sea and the mountains. Even from here, its distinctive position is easy to recognise, extending into the bay like a natural balcony above the water. For many years, this park has been a favourite spot for locals, with walking paths, a small beach and viewpoints looking out over the harbour and the rocky hills that frame the city. In recent years, Kalbuh Park has also been changing. Redevelopment work has improved its facilities and public spaces, and it is here that a highly visible project is now taking shape: the future Muttrah cable car. The structures you can see are part of this development, designed to link the corniche with the surrounding heights and, in time, offer a new way to experience Muscat from above. Kalbuh Park therefore remains both a place to relax by the sea and a space in transition, at the heart of the projects shaping Muscat today and in the years to come.
