You’re now just 28 metres above Peneco Beach, which lies directly below your feet. This concrete lift was designed by architect Joao Castro Ferreira in 2008, and can carry up to 13 people. Connecting the upper town with one of Albufeira’s most popular beaches, it offers locals a quicker way to get from one part of the city to another, and serves as an incredible viewpoint. The platform around the lift gives you a panoramic view over the sea, the beach, and the town. Take a moment to admire the whitewashed houses of the historic centre, the boats gliding across the water, and the people sunbathing, playing, and swimming below!
