You’ve now arrived in another traditional neighborhood, similar to Bukchon Village further up the hill, though not nearly as old. This one was restored in the 1920s, built to reflect the distinctive style of Korea’s famous traditional homes, known as hanok. Beyond its undeniable charm, which almost makes you forget you’re in one of the most modern capitals in the world, this little village within the city is filled with restaurants, cafés, and teahouses that draw visitors in with their original and eclectic concepts. Step inside one of these establishments to fully appreciate the unique and intricate décor that gives each hanok its character.
