Can Casasayas

The two impressive buildings before you are the Can Casasayas. You’ve surely recognised the Catalan Modernist style, which explains why they are so beautiful. Originally intended as a family guesthouse, these two buildings were actually constructed between 1908 and 1911 for Josep Casasayas, a Majorcan businessman who owned the famous Can Frasquet bakery. Although they're separated by Santacilia Street, there were originally plans to connect them with a skyway. However, the city council rejected this idea, so the two buildings ended up being built as separate structures. With their beautiful undulating balconies and truly distinctive appearance, the Can Casasayas buildings have been classified as a site of cultural interest by Majorca's heritage committee.
