Opposite the synagogue stands the Casa de Sefarad, a museum which opened in 2006 to explore the daily life, traditions, and culture of the Sephardic Jewish communities. The Sephardic Jews hailed from the Iberian Peninsula, and lived in Córdoba and the surrounding region. The museum is housed in an old residence, parts of which date back to the 14th century. It offers a fascinating journey into Córdoba’s medieval past. It’s places like this that bring to life Córdoba’s well-earned nickname, the City of Three Cultures.
