The striking house in front of you stands out from everything around it. This is the Casa del Punt de Gantxo, a stunning example of Valencian Modernism, built by Valencian architect Manuel Peris Ferrando in 1906. Modernism began spreading across Europe in the late 19th century, as a local expression of the Art Nouveau movement. Art Nouveau is easy to spot, it features flowing curves, floral patterns, and nature-inspired details. One look at this building is enough to know that this is pure Art Nouveau. On the ground floor, you’ll see a chapel dating back to 1719, which was incorporated into the new construction. As you look up, you’ll spot more Art Nouveau curves and nature-inspired details, highlighted in a vibrant shade of red. Unfortunately, the building isn’t open to visitors.
