We’re now in the Realejo district, the former Jewish quarter, known for its beautiful whitewashed houses. On this small square, called Puerta del Sol, you’ll find an old washhouse dating back to the 1960s. With its six Tuscan marble columns and traditional Arab-tiled roof, it blends perfectly into the neighbourhood’s style, renowned for its elegance. It’s a reminder of a time when women would gather here to wash their linens, but also to socialise and meet others. Beyond its historical and symbolic value, this spot also offers charming views over the city. It may be a little tricky to find, but it’s well worth the detour!
