Parc des Bastions

Welcome to Bastions Park—a quiet bubble of nature tucked away in the middle of Geneva. Locals love its long, shaded walkways and outdoor activities, especially the giant chessboards where passionate players face off in open-air matches. It’s actually the oldest park in the city: when it was created in 1817, it housed Geneva’s very first Botanical Garden. Today, it’s home to several of the city’s iconic statues and monuments, as well as the University of Geneva and the elegant Eynard Palace, which once served as the town hall. Whether you’re attending an event or simply out for a stroll, this peaceful green space just steps from the city center is always worth a visit.
