This is Regent's Canal, a man-made canal that gives Camden Town its charm! Inaugurated in 1820, Regent’s Canal was created by the famous architect John Nash and got its name from King George IV, who at the time was the Prince Regent, meaning he was acting on behalf of the king when the he king was unable to fulfill his duties. Today, the canal offers Londoners and visitors the chance to enjoy leisurely walks along the water and romantic boat cruises that reveal London’s hiden spots.
