1. Bonito Encebollado
We start this ranking with a traditional dish, originating from the city of Granada. What does it contain? A good portion of tuna, mixed with potatoes and onions. A delight. The main ingredient being fish, white meat, lean meat, it's not a particularly caloric meal. Quite the opposite, tuna helps keep bones healthy: thanks to phosphorus and vitamin B. Some even describe it as "protein from the sea". In other words, eating this fish stew will do you the greatest good. Notice to pesco-vegetarians, this dish is made for you!
2. Smoked Sardines

Let's continue on this track with fish, are you interested? Smoked sardines are very successful in Granada (a bit like all types of fish). Many city inhabitants enjoy eating this very fresh meat with a small crunchy salad on the side. Or even a plate of fries. This makes it a delicious appetizer. Just like tuna, sardine has many qualities for the body: it's a source of protein not to be neglected, rich in vitamin D, as well as vitamin B12. In addition to being easy to prepare, it provides the calcium and lipids the body needs.
3. Alpujarreño

And where's the meat in all this? We can already hear our carnivorous readers getting impatient. Alpujarreño is a hearty meal, mainly eaten in the Granada region. It's composed of black pudding, longaniza sausage, raw ham from Alpujarra, some fried eggs, potatoes, as well as marinated pork fillets. A meat festival! Very caloric dish (we could have guessed), it can be enjoyed with a salad (to better give ourselves a clear conscience). Alpujarreño is one of visitors' favorite dishes, as it allows them to discover certain typical Spanish meats. Both melting and tender, what more could you ask for?
4. Piononos de Santa Fe

Ryo is so happy to present you this little delicacy that is the Piononos de Santa Fe! A small cake coming directly from "Santa Fe", a pretty town in the Granada region. It's actually a dessert made with a thin slice of rolled biscuit a bit like a cylinder: a sheet of sponge cake that has been dipped in a custard-based syrup. Then, to crown it all, the pastry is sprinkled with sugar and a little caramel. Is this enough to make your mouth water? This sweetness is eaten absolutely everywhere in the city, by young and old. You'll easily find some!
5. Sacramento Omelet

If you were expecting a light dish, you were wrong! The Sacramento Omelet makes our stomach rumble just by smelling the delicious smell of eggs coming out of the pan. Very typical dish of Granada, many restaurants serve it. Sometimes even, the recipe is revisited, according to customer requests. You'll find potatoes, chorizo (which goes very well with eggs), peas, broad beans, peppers (preferably red), and finally to finish ham. Just that! This mixture of flavors, with ingredients as different from each other brings a real explosion in the mouth. Perfect for lunch time!
6. Fried Eggplant with Honey

Yes, you read correctly! Who could have suspected such an association? And yet... Fried eggplant with honey wreaks havoc (in a good way) among visitors. Some even say it's their best discovery in Spain. If you go to a restaurant with your other half, order this famous dish. It will be served to you as tapas, with a typically local drink. The second you take your first bite, you'll immediately be conquered by the perfect contrast between honey and eggplant. Your taste buds will quiver as well as your whole body.
7. Wine

When you eat a delicious dish, you like to accompany it with an equally delicious drink. Wine in Granada is often consumed! It must be said that the city has its must-haves: such as Contraviesa. Contraviesa is a wine of character that is easily distinguished by its bright red color. Invigorating, it has red fruits and has a sober and refined side in the mouth. It pairs well with red meat dishes, like ribeye steaks. One glass and you'll be satisfied!
8. Iberian Toast

We don't say no to a well-garnished toast! Iberian Toast is simple to cook, but irresistible in the mouth. It can be served at any time, at any moment of the day. The toasts are lightly grilled, then rubbed with garlic. They are then sprinkled with tomato slices, parmesan, Espelette pepper, a little salt and olive oil... To finally end with the final touch: Iberian ham which is distinguished by its melting or even bewitching taste. A beautiful way to start the day, with enthusiasm and energy!
9. Remojón Granadino

Here's an ancient dish of Arab tradition, very present in Muslim Granada. Over time, it has become a great classic, and can sometimes even be prepared in different versions. Are you wondering where this pretty color that we see in the photo comes from? From olive oil and oranges! Served with eggs, olives, a little cod, potatoes, paprika, and lots of other aromatics, its smell is particular. It's a fine delicacy appreciated by tourists.
10. San Antón Pot

We end this ranking (and yes, it's already over) with the San Antón Pot. A dish that we often find at the top of the list in the menus of bars or restaurants in the city of Granada. Particularly on January 17th: the day when the city celebrates San Antón, a traditional festival, where inhabitants light bonfires. The dish consists of rice, black pudding, dry beans, and broad beans. All cooked in a broth. It's eaten around a large table, in joy and good humor.
