Important information
Here we start climbing up the road opposite to reach Philopappos Hill. It offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Acropolis and the city of Athens, certainly one of the most beautiful in the city. However, the ascent is quite difficult, with several sloping sections, steps and some paths that are not very well laid out. But it's not a very long walk and you'll be rewarded with a great view of this iconic site! You'll also learn more about the Philopappos Monument at the top and Socrates' prison. If you don't want to go up, or want to save the climb for another time, turn right and walk along the bottom of the hill to join the rest of the route a little further on.
