A Triple Crown race

Together with the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Monaco Grand Prix makes up the Triple Crown, the name given to the three most prestigious races that every driver dreams of winning. Organised for the first time in 1929, its inaugural race was won on 14 April by William Grover-Williams at the wheel of a Bugatti. The circuit, of about 3.34 kilometres, winds through the very streets of the city.

What there is to see

The circuit takes in legendary places of the Principality: Port Hercule, the climb towards the casino, the famous Grand Hotel hairpin, the tunnel and the port chicane. Narrow, winding and with no margin for error, it is considered one of the most demanding and spectacular of the calendar. Even outside competition, following the circuit on foot allows you to relive the atmosphere of this legendary race.

Practical information

The Monaco Grand Prix is run each year in May, on an urban circuit of about 3.34 kilometres laid out in the streets of the Principality. Outside the event, the circuit can be walked freely. The conditions of access to the stands during the race vary according to the organisers and the locations.
