On your left is the Madeira Story Centre, a museum that takes you on a journey through the island’s entire history—from its volcanic formation millions of years ago to the present day. The experience is fully interactive and designed to engage all five senses, making it a fun and immersive way to learn about Madeira’s traditions, people, geology, and evolution. At the top of the building, there's a panoramic terrace offering fantastic views over the city and the waterfront, and the on-site shop is a great place to pick up local products. It’s a must-visit if you’re curious about the island’s rich and surprising 14-million-year story. The museum visit takes about an hour and requires a paid ticket.
