Balcón del Coño
From the Balcón del Coño, you look out over a breathtaking opening onto the Ronda valley, where the sheer cliffs of the canyon suddenly drop into a wide, open stretch of rolling hills, cultivated fields and scattered farmhouses. The sense of height is especially stunning because the balcony juts out over the void, giving you a direct view of the rock walls and the depth of the ravine below. That startling feeling is exactly what gave the place its name: locals say that visitors leaning forward for the first time would often let out a spontaneous “¡Coño!”, a familiar Spanish exclamation of surprise or amazement, something like “Wow!” or “Good grief!” in English. The story stuck, and the name did too, making this viewpoint a memorable stop.
