Built at the request of President Ronald Reagan in 1976, this park, was created 200 years after the United States declared independence, as a tribute to the "living legacy of the American Revolution". It also commemorates the drafting of the Constitution, which was signed in 1787. There’s a small island within it, accessible via a wooden bridge, for the Memorial to the 56 Signers of the Declaration of Independence. This monument displays the names and signatures of the men who contributed to and approved the Constitution. A charming little park, perfect for a stroll between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial!
