Advice

Let’s just take a quick break in your tour, to introduce you to some other points of interest that unfortunately couldn’t be included in the itinerary. The best way to experience Sydney is by immersing yourself in its restaurants, cafes, and shops, as this is how to discover the Australian culture and its local specialties. Beyond its harbour and city center landmarks, be sure to discover Sydney’s beautiful beaches, which are perfect if you fancy a stroll, a picnic, or a swim on hot summer days.

The most famous and most visited of them all is definitely Bondi Beach! Of course, Bondi offers an array of restaurants, cafes, souvenir shops, and hotels. For an iconic coastal walk in Sydney follow the path between Bondi Beach and Coogee.

This 6-kilometer trail takes you through beaches, parks, and bays, all of which are well worth exploring. If you’d like to wander around the other side of Sydney, head towards Manly, a seaside town that perfectly captures the laid-back Australian lifestyle. To meet Australia’s iconic animals, such as kangaroos, koalas, and quokkas, a visit to Featherdale Wildlife Park is the perfect choice.

When visiting this animal park, you’ll have the chance to get up close to these creatures, and many more. For the ultimate local wildlife experience, take to the sea and go whale watching around Sydney Bay. Calling all wine lovers!

If you’re keen to explore Australia’s vineyards, venture out of Sydney to Hunter Valley, the country’s oldest wine region. It has more than 150 wineries, as well as stunning vineyard landscapes, and many charming towns and villages to visit. If you’re still in the area, consider checking out Port Stephens and its beautiful beaches.

Its natural scenery has become a popular getaway for both visitors and Sydney locals, offering breathtaking viewpoints, coastal walks, and even dolphin swims. Closer to Sydney, the Blue Mountains National Park is the most popular nature escape. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, it’s a haven for nature lovers, with vast forests, dramatic cliffs, deep canyons, and a stunning scenery.

About 30 kilometers south of Sydney, do not miss the Royal National Park. It is the second oldest national park in the world after Yellowstone in the United States. It’s perfect for hiking enthusiasts with plenty of trails.

You can even stay overnight, to spend a few days there for a fully immersive experience. If you’re lucky enough to stay a little longer, there is Kangaroo Valley, nestled in the mountains south of Sydney. Though you may have thought so, it’s not particularly known for kangaroos, but you might spot a few wombats.

The valley is especially appreciated for its hiking trails and kayaking routes. Finally, if you keep heading south, you’ll reach Jervis Bay, often considered one of the most beautiful spots in Australia. You’ll find exceptional white sand beaches, crystal-clear turquoise water, and vast marine wildlife.

There, with all of this, you’ll have plenty to explore if you decide to extend your stay in the region!
