Sydney's city center, known as the City or the Central Business District, is the business hub of this Australian metropolis. Here, you’ll find the tallest skyscrapers, major hotel complexes, and the city's most renowned office buildings, home to many international retailers. But this district is also a haven for shopaholics, with many large shopping centers, offering a wide variety of shops. While this is truly the economic heart of the city, this part of Sydney is also a major cultural center, where you’ll find the Museum of Sydney, the State Library, and the Theatre Royal Sydney. Since 1977, this district has also been home to the internationally renowned Sydney Festival, which offers many concerts and performances throughout the city.
