We'd like to take a quick break from your visit to introduce all the other points of interest that couldn't be included in the tour. Back in 1812, Dieppe was the first French seaside resort to offer seawater treatments, and it has retained a strong link with this noble status. The best way to see this is to visit the Dieppe Spa. This municipal establishment combines the pleasures of sport, leisure and well-being, so you can relax and replenish your health in front of an exceptional maritime panorama. The O2 Mer restaurant within the complex will do its utmost to satisfy your cravings, with meals ranging from the basic to the more elaborate. If you're visiting the town of Dieppe, this is pretty much enough. However, wait until you see what the surrounding area has in store for you. Let's start with Miromesnil Castle and Arques-la-Bataille Castle, just 10 minutes apart. The former is a majestic building dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, famous for having been the residence of the Marquis of Miromesnil, Louis XVI's Keeper of the Seals, as well as that of the famous writer Guy de Maupassant. The second is an ancient castle probably built between 1040 and 1045 by William d'Arques, the uncle of William the Conqueror. Nowadays, its remains, whose interior is closed to visitors, are the perfect place to take a stroll. The castle walls offer breathtaking views over the valley. As our last essential stopover near Dieppe, we had to mention Varengeville-sur-Mer. This is where trees, plants and flowers flourish, and where you can enjoy the Bois des Moutiers Park, which is one of the three most visited gardens in France, thanks to its large collection of giant rhododendrons. You can also wander down the paths of Shamrock Garden, adjacent to the beautiful Ango Manor, which boasts the world's largest collection of hydrangeas. Head down to the village church and marine cemetery where you'll be treated to an uninterrupted view of the Bay of Dieppe. Directly below, the Vasterival valley which is a natural, mysterious and intimate valley overlooking the sea, shows once again that nature reigns supreme! Well, with all this, you've got plenty of things to do, if you feel like staying in the area for a while.
