We would like to take a moment to briefly introduce you to other points of interest that we weren't able to squeeze into our itinerary. The Guérande region is a land full of treasures between land and sea. We start with the famous salt marshes, shaped since the Middle Ages. Walking along the pools, you can discover the patient work of the salt workers and the play of light that transforms the landscape, especially at sunset. Just a few kilometers away lies Brière, a vast wild marshland explored by boat, along canals and traditional thatched cottages. It’s an immersion in timeless, unspoiled nature. The coastline also holds many surprises. Le Croisic, a former fishing port, enchants with its lively quays, old houses, and rugged wild coast swept by the waves. Right next door, La Baule stretches out its long sandy beach lined with Belle Époque villas, while Le Pouliguen keeps a more intimate atmosphere, perfect for strolling along its port or setting out on a coastal walk. Further north, Piriac-sur-Mer reveals flowery lanes and granite houses, an authentic setting that leads to small wild coves. Batz-sur-Mer, between ocean and marshes, is dominated by the Saint-Guénolé Tower, offering spectacular panoramic views, and its museum recalls the importance of salt in the region. Heading east, Saint-Nazaire tells another story, that of great ocean liners and submarines, with its massive shipyards and the Espadon submarine open to visitors. More discreet, La Turballe lives to the rhythm of fishing, its fish market, and long beaches ideal for swimming. Finally, Mesquer and Quimiac offer a more intimate setting, with small coves and vast marshes, perfect for tasting local oysters and mussels. Between heritage, nature, and the ocean, every stop around Guérande has its own unique atmosphere and special charm. Well, with all this, you've got plenty of things to do, if you feel like staying in the area for a while.
