We'd like to take a moment to briefly introduce you to other points of interest that we weren't able to squeeze into our itinerary. Among the must-sees in Metz are the banks of the Moselle River. For a sweet stroll immersed in nature, you can continue to walk along the river to the Grand Saulcy Island, or head south to the botanical garden.

Another walk, blending history and nature, is the ramparts promenade of Fort Bellecroix, connecting the Gate? Bridge to the Porte des Allemands. If you're more into culture than hiking, know that Metz boasts several remarkable museums.

Especially noteworthy are the fascinating Cour d'Or Museum and the modern and creative Centre Pompidou. Should you have some time to explore the Moselle county, you can start by visiting the villages west of Metz. Scy-Chazelles, for example, on Mount Saint-Quentin, is home to a fortified church from the 12th century and the house of Robert Schuman, considered one of the founding fathers of the European Union.

South of Metz, you can discover the Roman aqueduct of Jouy-aux-Arches, dating back to the 2nd century AD. Just 30 minutes from Metz, don't miss the former Premonstratensian Abbey, nestled in the heart of Pont-à-Mousson. Elegant and solemn, it is the finest example of monastic architecture in Lorraine.

The town is also worth a visit for its House of the Seven Deadly Sins and its beautiful 14th-century Saint-Martin Church. Well, with all this, you've got plenty of things to do if you feel like staying in the area for a while.
