An iconic view of Chamonix

Pause for a moment by the Arve River and take in the view unfolding before you. The town spreads out like a postcard, ready to come alive. To your left, you’ll spot the old Chamonix Palace, built in the early 20th century to welcome high society guests. You can’t stay there anymore — since 1969, it’s been home to the Alpine Museum of Chamonix, which is currently closed for renovations. Right in front of you, a charming covered wooden footbridge crosses the river, adding a picturesque touch with its little rooftop dome and colorful flowers lining the railings. It’s the perfect spot for a photo, with Mont Blanc towering behind and the impressive Bossons Glacier flowing down like a brilliant white sea into the valley.
