Bidouane Tower

Built at the angle of the enceinte on the rocky point, Bidouane Tower has the classic horseshoe shape expected of a 15th-century artillery tower. It was against this tower that the English hurled their famous infernal machine, a ship packed with explosives meant to blow open the ramparts. Later, rather ironically, the tower became a powder magazine. Today it offers an orientation table to help you get your bearings and an out-of-this-world view over the Bay of Saint-Malo, stretching from Pointe de la Varde to Cap Fréhel, with Dinard in between.
