Biltoki covered market

The Biltoki market hall

The Angers audio-guided tour stops you before the city's covered market, the Biltoki market hall, also called Halles Coeur de Maine. Inaugurated in 2023, it brings together the flavours of the Angevin terroir in a convivial atmosphere.

A recent covered market

It was the Basque group Biltoki that led the project of this covered market, inaugurated in 2023. Over about a thousand square metres, the hall hosts some twenty stalls offering fruit, vegetables, cured meats, fish, wine, cheese and many other products. It offers a lively showcase of local gastronomy, in the spirit of a convivial hall where you stroll, buy and taste.

What there is to see and taste

The hall is the ideal place to discover Angevin specialities: fresh local produce, cheeses, cured meats, but also local treats such as the quernons d'ardoise, those blue chocolate and nougatine sweets, a nod to the slate roofs of the region. You can taste on the spot, in a warm atmosphere, in the heart of the centre.

Practical information

The Biltoki market hall is in the centre of Angers, near the banks of the Maine. It is usually open from Tuesday to Saturday, with extended evening hours on certain days, and closed on Mondays; hours may vary. Access to the hall is free; each stall follows its own hours.
