The Brest cable car

An original stop on the Brest audio-guided tour, the cable car crosses the Penfeld to link the city centre to the Capucins district, on the right bank of the river. It has become a real attraction in the heart of the city.

The oldest urban cable car in France

Inaugurated in 2016, the Brest cable car is the oldest urban cable car in France. The crossing lasts about three minutes, at seventy metres above the ground, and offers a superb view from above of the city's rooftops and its impressive roadstead.

What to see

Beyond a means of transport, it is an experience in its own right: the view of the arsenal, the Penfeld and the districts of Brest is striking. Once at the Capucins, discover the former Navy workshops converted into a cultural and commercial venue.

Practical information

The cable car links the centre of Brest to the Capucins district, over the Penfeld. It is part of the city's transport network; times and prices should be checked depending on the season with the operator.
