Castle Park

You’re now standing in the palace’s grand park, with a magnificent view of the façade ahead and elegant French gardens all around you. The design for these gardens began in 1752 but the project was halted by the French Revolution. Napoleon I revived the project in 1806, transforming the park into a green sanctuary, adorned with elegant pavilions. The landscaping stretches all the way to the forest and Beaux Monts Avenue. As you stroll through the gardens, you’ll come across a beautiful collection of thirty marble statues inspired by Antiquity. Make sure to visit the rose garden, open from the end of May to mid-June.
