Centenary Square

Welcome to Place du Centenaire. Right here, in the heart of Le Touquet, you’re standing in one of the town’s newest yet most symbolic spots. This square was inaugurated in 2012 to celebrate the centenary of the commune, officially founded in 1912. All around you, the architecture reflects the spirit of Le Touquet, a blend of understated modernity and elegant seaside style. It’s a bright, open space linking several key landmarks, including the covered market just next door. Contemporary sculptures, stone benches, landscaped flowerbeds… the square was designed as both a walkway and a place to pause, breathe, and take in the surroundings. At its center, you can’t miss the striking modern metal sculpture, a stylized nod to the Eiffel Tower. It pays tribute to the historic and emotional bond between Le Touquet and the French capital, since the resort was founded by a Parisian, Alphonse Daloz, and its full name, Le Touquet-Paris-Plage, proudly carries this dual heritage. It’s an artistic wink to Parisian elegance, right here by the sea. From here, we’ll head left after the square, but if you were to continue to the right along the Digue-Promenade des Princes de Monaco, you’d discover another side of Le Touquet. This scenic oceanfront walkway takes you all the way to the Pointe du Touquet dune, a protected natural area of sand, pine trees, and salty sea air. Out there, it’s all about stillness, open horizons, and seabirds, one of the most stunning views on the entire Côte d’Opale.
