Hôtel de la Monnaie

You’re walking alongside the Hôtel de la Monnaie, the massive neoclassical building on your right. Built between 1771 and 1775 by architect Denis Antoine, this architectural masterpiece houses today the Monnaie de Paris. Inside, official French coins are minted, as well as other metal objects and decorative pieces. You’ll find a museum, informing on this place’s history and sometimes Contemporary Art exhibitions.
