House of the Corsair

Just ahead, you’ll pass the famous House of the Corsair, a listed historic monument and one of the last remaining shipowners’ residences in Saint-Malo. It was built for François-Auguste Magon de la Lande, a corsair under Louis XV. If you’re curious to learn more about the lives and voyages of these corsairs—and the distinctive features of their homes—this is the place to do it. Visits are guided only and require an entrance fee.
