A beach on the Alabaster Coast

Le Havre is part of the Alabaster Coast, those one hundred and thirty kilometres of Norman coast lined with the characteristic high white cliffs. The town's beach, more than two kilometres long, is about five hundred metres from the centre. It has been developed with restaurants, sports grounds and colourful beach huts, designed by architects, which are part of its charm.

What there is to see

The pebble beach offers a long seaside walk, with a view of the Channel and, on a clear day, of the coast. Swimming, surfing, beach volleyball and relaxation are celebrated there in the warm season. The colourful beach huts and the restaurants enliven the seafront, which naturally extends the discovery of the rebuilt city to the water.

Practical information

Le Havre beach can be seen freely, in the open air, about five hundred metres from the town centre, along the Channel. It is accessible at any time. Swimming is supervised in season, on developed beaches; restaurants and beach services follow their own hours, especially in summer.
