A theatre wanted by the inhabitants

Built between 1840 and 1843, the theatre was designed with an Italian-style hall and an elegant and imposing architecture of neoclassical style. It was the inhabitants themselves who, in the middle of the nineteenth century, called for the construction of a place specifically dedicated to plays, concerts and dance shows. Their wish was granted, and this fine building still hosts today the finest performances given in the city.
