Behind you is the Municipal Theater. It was built between 1847 and 1849 by architect Louis-Michel Boltz. Given its popularity and the city's growing population, it was expanded in 1902 to accommodate even more spectators. Its Italian-style auditorium was renovated in the 2000s, and can now seat up to 550 people. The exterior is equally impressive, with its French-style façade. With over 100 performances a year, including plays, concerts, operas, and ballets, this theatre is the heart of the city's cultural scene, located right here, on the 18th of November Square.
