On the right, descending to the port, stretches the U Puntettu district, a historic quarter said to have developed at the same time as Terra Vecchia, the Old Port district, after the Genoese settled in the citadel. U Puntettu means little bridge, referring to the bridge that once crossed the Guadellu river, now channelled and gone from the landscape.
