The monumental fountain of the city

Built in the nineteenth century, the Rotonde Fountain measures twelve metres high and sits at the centre of a vast roundabout, at the entrance of the Cours Mirabeau. Adorned with basins, lions and sea horses, it is crowned with three female statues symbolising Justice, Agriculture and Fine Arts, turned towards the great roads of the region. A true gateway to the city, it is one of the most famous fountains of Aix-en-Provence, nicknamed the city of a thousand fountains.
